PAF Receives Generous Donation from Students at Hawaiʻi Baptist Academy
The Pacific American Foundation is dedicated to education, cultivating the next generation of caretakers who can serve our wahi pana and beyond.
It is always a special moment when the students share back with us!
Hawaii Baptist Academy 8th graders Lydia Miyshiro, Kaila Brownfield, Lauren Quan, and Brandi Shinagawa dedicated their yearlong capstone project to Pacific American Foundation. Their school invited them to use their interests and passion to create a meaningful project that has measurable impact beyond the classroom. The girls decided to make handcrafted pikake jewelry and sold each piece as a fundraiser, donating all proceeds to The Pacific American Foundation in support of Waikalua Loko Iʻa. They presented the check to Uncle Herb at our most recent Lā ʻOhana workday.

They also tackled the debris that washed up on the pond, while getting quality time with Aika the dog.

Student-led ideas truly can grow into real community impact—combining creativity, cultural connection, and mālama ʻāina to support the continued stewardship of an important place of learning and heritage. Check out more opportunities to support and grow:
